Harry Molloy
D.O.B: 30/05/1991

Started Mountain Biking: When I was nearly five years old my dad found out about Penshurst (PORC). Ever since then I have loved everything about riding fast.

First Race Year and Venue/Track: My first big race was the Final National race of 2005. I won. This was my last race on my Turner before sponsorship with Muddyfox.

DH Bike: Last “Herb DH”

Hard tail: DMR Trailstar

Clipped or Flats: Flat pedals - They are the ones for me.

Favourite track: Mont Sainte Anne, Canada is my favourite track; it’s a long track with everything on it, over the top speeds and is pretty loose. No wonder they have chosen it for the 2010 World Championship.

What are your aims for the 2010 season?

Well it's my first year in Elite so I don't really know where I will be in the field but I will aim for top 10's in Nationals. I also aim to get a few top 30 results on the world circuit.

Which racer do you most admire on the MTB scene?

Sam Hill and Greg Minnaar are my obvious idols but my interests are set on improvement and becoming my own thing.

Which races are you looking forward to most this season?

I can’t wait to get stuck into the World Cups again. Last year I started the season jumping out of a hospital bed without training and this year is a different matter all together.

What would be your ideal Downhill bike be?

Well although I don't know much about how they ride... Intense have by far got the looks department dialled in my eyes! Performance wise, I think the Honda had the technology that has boosted the sudden rush of development in downhill bikes. The Last is ideal for me as the large frame is pretty long and has a low BB and low centre of gravity. To an extent, no bike can make you better than you are yourself. You put any Pro rider on a top range bike, they will still dominate.

How do you feel about your sponsors?

My sponsors have really changed everything for me. Last, Rezurgence, Lifestyle Ford, DMR, Funn, 661, KMC, Mojo suspension, Shimano and Maxxis all contributed hugely last year. Without them I wouldn’t have been able to go from a hospital bed to getting 4th junior at Bromont, Canada a few months later. They have given me great support and believed in me so I am more than happy with my sponsors. Also I am working with Ian Warby and his Firecrest training courses which is helping me hugely with all the aspects to racing.

Are you happy with the Last Herb DH and Mojo Suspension?

I am more than happy with the bike and suspension. I have spent 2009 playing about with spring weights and compression and rebound settings and I now have everything fine tuned to how I like it. Huge thanks to Pete at Mojo for helping me find the right settings and supporting me through the season. The bike pedals amazingly, corners great, jumps well, tracks the ground very well and I haven't come across anything that it can't tackle really well. The Last is pretty unique to most other bikes in the way in which the linkage works. The rear suspension ramps up right at the end of the travel and is progressive throughout the travel; so it’s always like you’re on a cushion of air but without any horrible bottom out’s like other bikes.
